Every year around this time, my family and I sit down together to make ginger bread houses, sip cocoa and then bundle up to go out looking at Christmas lights. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s something my family does year after year. A holiday tradition that I love doing with my kids. They compete a bit to make the most beautiful ginger bread house, or perhaps who can place the most marshmallows inside their cocoa… my 7 year old usually wins at that one. The most important part of our tradition is the togetherness and being a family. There are no phones ringing, or social media to update, yet five people loving each other and enjoying the holiday season.
