The atmosphere is “bohemian chic meets industrial elegance,” but don’t let that scare you off! It’s a family friendly establishment that is casual, friendly and fun. Just take a look at the cool school bus put there exclusively for kiddos to enjoy!

My husband decided to go sans-kiddos! Exhale…. It was so nice to have a night to ourselves. We sipped on cocktails, noshed on delicious food all thanks to BO-beau Kitchen + Garden. The cocktail of choice was the BO-beau Mule. Ice cold, refreshing and served in a chilled copper mule mug. My husband was very impressed with their selection of tap beers. Modern Times it was for him.

We chose the Crasseux Frites as an appetizer and it hit the spot. Pork confit, bubbly white cheddar and port gravy– chow can you go wrong?

For our entrees, I went with the Burger Royale. I know what you are thinking…. why would you go burger? Well three reasons. Grass fed beef, pork belly and onion jam. Need I say more?! It was delicious and probably up there with best all time burger. Juicy, cooked just how I wanted- medium. Hint of sweet onion jam, a little saltiness from the pork belly bacon, then a nice sharpness form the gouda. Yum!

My husband went with the French Provencale Shepard’s Pie and it did not disappoint. It was comfort food times 1000. Instead of the usual ground beef or lamb, they took amazingly tender short rib and layered it with carrots, parsnips, rutabaga, onion and mashed potatoes, then finally topped with a gorgeous sharp Wisconsin Cheddar.

At this point we were pretty full. The dessert menu came around and it was hard for me to pass up. We went with something on the “lighter” side if you will. A bourbon ice cream plopped in the middle of some icy root-beer. Then on the side a heavenly thing call bacon jack. Like the old fashioned Cracker Jack, but with BACON! It was amazing.
